Urmas Paet, a member of the European Parliament, stated that the decision to be taken tomorrow by the European Parliament on ratifying an EU-Moldova Association Agreement is an important step for Moldova on its path towards European Union.
Paet added that Moldova has invested much into EU integration and has proven itself. “Moldova is a good example for other EU Eastern Partnership countries. Therefore the decision by European Parliament to be taken tomorrow to ratify the association agreement is very important.”
In spring 2014 EU visa freedom for Moldovan citizens took effect. Paet said that this is a clear message to Moldovan citizens that EU trusts Moldova. “However Moldova must continue with its reforms,” he added.
